S'morey Goes To An Irish Pub

Today we all went to "The Curragh", which is an Irish pub. S'morey got a little taste of Guinness, sneaking a sip from my dad's glass. S'morey said," It is way to bitter." It seems S'morey got a stomach ache because of the taste, I
think it turned his stomach upside down.

He is also posing according to the words that were painted on the wall. The wall says " Dying is one of the few things that can be done as easily as lying down".

S'morey maneged to climb on top of an Irish pig statue. Which he tried top ride, but the pig didn't move. Even if the pig moved S'morey would have been in for a wild ride, both the pig and S'morey would have fallen a hit the floor. The pig was up on a shelf.

I noticed whenever the waitress came S'morey began to blush. Therefore she was asked if she would kindly take a picture with S'morey, and she accepted. S'morey was so happy, he said she had a very pleasant smell about her. That was S'moreys' adventure for today.... stay tuned until tomorrow to see the next one. I have a feeling the that tomorrow's adventure will involve snow.

Mini Sock Monkey Mania

There are new members in the sock monkey family. For Christmas I made my cousin's mini sock monkeys. Now we have three mini sock monkeys.

Chocolate Chip was the first mini Monkey I made. He is S'morey and Truffle's son. The reason for his name is because of his size. Chocolate Chip is as small as the chips in cookies (not really..... almost).

Next is Ginger, she is Luke's first sock monkey, and also the first female in his collection. She was named Ginger because, Luke makes great Ginger Snap Cookies, his specialty. To see some of Giners adventures go to: photographykidluke.blogspot.com

Last but not least, Mojito Fransisco Mojo. He is Logan's first sock monkey as well. He got his name because Logan likes the way it rolls off his tongue when he says it. To hear more funny adventures with Mojito go to : www.loganrocks1997.blogspot.com Mojito and Ginger are twins, S'moreys' niece and nephew, and Chocolate Chips cousins.

Dreaming of Legos

Last night after S'moreys' wild adventure, he went to sleep. And today when S'morey woke up he told about this new dream he had. His dream was about Lego's, it starts off with S'morey opening a door. Inside the door were a lot of Lego people, they told S'morey to follow them. They wanted to show S'morey their village. As S'morey walked he was suddenly stopped, and the Lego villager pointed up. S'morey looked up and all he saw was a pool table. But little did he know on the pool table was the village. So S'morey climbed up the stairs, and as soon as he got half way a plane flew over him. He was a little frightened of the plane, because the experience he had yesterday. S'morey finally reached the top of the stairs, when he noticed how helpful the people were. S'morey began making friends and helping other, he also got to fly a big green and white plane. When the dream ended, S'morey couldn't wait to go back to sleep so he could see where his dreams take him next time. Now all day S'morey has not stopped talking about planes.

S'morey Through the Looking Glass

Now we are in Michigan, we drove 14 hours to get here. Anyway, I was hanging out with my cousins, when S'morey ran off into one of the rooms. After a while of waiting for him to come out, I went searching for him. I walked into the room and I saw this....... he was sitting in front of a mirror. It seemed like S'morey was in another world. It kinda freaked me out, he was looking at the mirror as if something was looking back. I thought it was his reflection, but he told me otherwise.

S'morey began his story, he told me he entered in a land of Giant Friendly Footballs, they were all gathered around him. He said they wanted him to play with them.

S'morey also spoke of many other lands. The next land he entered was the land of Unhappy Airplanes. They began to corner S'morey, to the point that he was very frightened. There was a 9:1 ratio, S'morey against nine other unhappy planes. Who will win???? To be continued........ S'morey past through a door that led to this.......

The room was dark and all S'morey heard was a clock....... ding.... dong....ding...dong. Then the clock showed up every which way. So he closed his eyes, and wished he was in a sweet place.

Next thing he knew, S'morey was covered in candy, chocolate, and a lot more. He said he was only going to eat two pieces, but he ate more. Some good things have to come to an end, sadly S'morey told me he got a huge stomach ache. And never wanted anymore candy, ever!!!!!

S'moreys' final journey was back in Michigan where he began, sitting in the front of a mirror, in a bedroom. Who knew an ordinary mirror could be so adventurous...... or was the mirror far from ordinary?????? Only one monkey knows. When I looked at S'moreys' face it was covered in chocolate...........

Christmas Morning

When S'morey and I woke up this morning, we were so excited that today was Christmas, we raced upstairs (after we fed Riley and took her to go potty). And under the tree were a lot of presents, but Christmas is not about the presents it's about giving. Anyway, S'morey looked at each gift and inspected it twice, trying to guess what they were. The first gifts S'morey helped me open, had to do with sock monkeys.

There is a new member in the sock monkey family, he is a moose and his name is Cheesecake. He has a red bow on, Cheesecake is so cute, Santa sent him by UPS.

Then a gift from my cousins in Tampa: it was a blue sock monkey, his name is Blueberry. Blueberry is a bright ocean blue, he is a very handsome monkey. I think he likes Summer, she is a green, blue, and yellow stripped sock monkey that I have. Summer was given to me 2 months ago.By my grandfather when we visitted their house, they live in Summerfield, and that is how she got her name. Meet Blueberry, he likes to hang on things, what sock monkey doesn't????

The next gift, was a gift that all of sock monkey's and I could enjoy, but S'morey clams it is his. It is the DVD "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium", we all love this DVD. We have seen it many times, but just never owned it before, now it is ours to watch over and over again. And trust me we will.
I also got some mini socks, I know what your thinking, how can she use theses??? I make mini sock monkeys using them, that is how I made Chocolate Chip, S'morey and Truffle's son.

My Aunt and Uncle sent me a bathrobe with sock monkeys on it. I needed it my other bathrobe was getting way to small. The sock monkeys are hugging the stars and getting ready to go to sleep. They also sent me sock monkey slippers, which are very comfortable and warm.

I am so lucky to have a family that loves and cares for me. They know me very well. To finish this off, Merry Christmas!!!!!!! I hope yours was as special as mine. Comment me, I would love to hear what you got for Christmas, even if it has nothing to do with sock monkeys.

An Early Christmas Surprise

Monday we went to pick my mom up from the airport, and as she came down the stairs. There was a bag, and little did I know that the object In that bag would change my life. So I opened the bag, and up popped a little head. IT WAS A NEW PUPPY!!!! She is a Pomeranian, and her name is Riley. I am teaching her that sock monkeys are friends not play toys. S'morey loves and he has volunteered to watch her. He is really excited to have a new puppy around.Christmas is TOMORROW!!!!

Dress To Impress Santa

S'morey told all his friends and family to dress their best and maybe Santa will come early. Where does he get these funny ideas? I'm telling you he has the best imagination. And S'morey sneaked into my closet and told the family to put on the new clothes I made them. Little did I know S'morey took the camera, set it on timer and snapped this shot. Pretty good if I say so myself. Did I mention S'morey is also cleaver?? Well I don't think it worked, Santa did not come.

Starting from the left: Pudding, Cappuccino, S'morey, Graham Cracker, Truffle, Toffee and Cinnamon.

........ Then I caught him peaking at the Christmas gifts under the tree. That monkey!!!! Only a mother can love, and I do.

S'morey Can't Wait Till Christmas

S'morey is so happy, Christmas is almost here, he couldn't contain himself. He is flipping for joy. I must say S'morey is very talented. Wait until you see this video, it just so happens that S'morey was performing his tricks when I was upstairs in the loft. He performed 39 flips, I would be exhausted but not S'morey he can't wait until Christmas. He is probably excited, because there might be more members in the family. I know how S'morey feels, I can't wait until Christmas either. Do you think your sock animals are this excited about Christmas??????

Celebrating Christmas With S'morey

S'morey noticed that there were Christmas decorations being put up and he wanted to help. He was trying so hard to put up the stockings but he just couldn't reach. I turned around to see if he needed help and he was gone!!!! So I put up the stocking myself and little did I know, S'morey had fallen inside of the stocking. He really makes a good stocking stuffer. lol. After the stockings were up, we finished decorating the Christmas tree, but poor little S'morey couldn't reach. My dad promised S'morey that we would get a tree especially for him. Now, we have a tree that S'morey can reach. S'morey was so proud of his tree that he put his son, Chocolate Chip, as the topper. I also crocheted a Santa hat for S'morey to wear. He was sad because he didn't have one and everyone else did. Now he has one for himself.

S'morey Gives A New Meaning To Hanging Out

Yesterday while I was playing catch with my dad, I noticed that S'morey was hanging on the celling fan. The fan was off, but he still could have gotten hurt. There was only one way to get him down, turning the fan on a low setting. So that is what I did, he didn't want to come down. He was to scared to, so I told him I would catch him.

Christmas Wish

For Christmas we, S'morey and I, would like to expand our friendship collection, by adding this sock penguin. But it is only at one store, Patina.com. S'morey has always wanted a bird friend, maybe for Christmas his wish will come true.

Deer Nibble on S'morey

Yesterday we went to a National Park where we saw deer. While we were looking at a herd of deer, they started walking toward us. It was a good thing I brought some Chex Mix (just in case). I had rolled down the window so I could feed them, then S'morey wanted to look out. So I put his arms hanging out of the window, when all of a sudden I noticed a deer licking S'moreys arm. S'morey said it tickled, both my dad and I thought it was hilarious. Here's a video of our experience:

S'morey Takes A Bath

Yesterday, S' morey got his second bath. I had decided the night before he needed to be washed he was a little bit dirty. Five steps in washing a sock monkey:

  • First take off any items that are not attached.
  • Second put the water to warm.
  • Third place the sock monkey into a pillow case.
  • Four be sure to tie the pillow case, that way the red from the lips don't bleed onto any clothes.
  • Fifth put in a detergent that brightens colors.

S'morey Gets A Scarf

For Christmas we are going to Michigan, and I figured it's going to be very cold. Therefore I decided to try something new, I made S'morey a scarf. It took me two hours, because it need to be long enough, remember it was also my first time. S'morey loves the scarf and there are times he wants to sleep with it on, I just take it off him. The colors in the scarf match the socks used to make S'morey. Now he is all warm and toasty.

S'moreys First Snow Fall

When I woke you this morning S'morey was by my side. I had a feeling it was going to be a cold day. When I walk outside with S'morey, and all of a sudden snow is pouring down, this is not a little flurry anymore, it's like a blizzard. School is closed today also, the roads are covered in a blanket of white. As my cousins are leaving, the little white gifts float from the sky and gracefully cover the ground. All week long we have been waiting for snow and now all of us get to enjoy it as a family, what a great surprise!!!!

A Birthday Celebration to Remember

Today was my Daddy's 50th birthday, so S'morey and I decided to make an Italian Sour Cream Cake. It may have taken us a long time to make it but it is worth it. The reasons it took so long was because, S'morey kept eating all the batter and icing. I can't blame him it is delicious, I had a little taste myself. For the celebration, we also had a silly string fight, our family was still in town, so they shared the experience with us. I think it will rub off maybe the next time we go to the house for a party S'morey and I might be covered in colors. I had the red string, and both S'morey and I became rainbows, we both had so many colors on us. My cousins had green, blue and maybe one more red string. My dad really enjoyed this day , he had the green string, green is his favorite color. It is a family tradition that we have a silly string fight on birthday's. S'morey has only experienced this tradition a few times, but I have only had him for 2 years. He will be here for many more birthdays!!!! His birthday will be coming soon enough.

S'morey Makes Money

S'morey is the sock monkey of all sock monkeys. He is such a hit my Aunt wants me to make two sock monkeys for her friend. Yesterday my Aunt and Uncle were admiring my work, making sock monkeys. That is when my Aunt got the idea, so now S'morey and I are on a mission to find the supplies we need. We are going to make two sock monkeys, one with a ballet dress, and one with a karate belt. We can't wait, S'morey loves making new friends, my family already loves him. Wherever I go he is there.

Mission:

  • Get two pairs of Rockford Red Heels (size M)
  • Get a half a yard of pink silky fabric
  • Get pink yarn or ribbon
  • Get white and black thick and sturdy ribbon
  • Get personalized tags

Put a smile on two kids faces :)

S'morey and His Adventures

My family and I went to a protected animal park, and of course S'morey (the sock monkey) was there. We were sitting in the back of the car with the lift gate up, so we could look out. When all of a sudden S'morey spotted a herd of deer. I suggested that S'morey and I get out of the car, to try and feed the deer. Because a couple of years ago a deer almost ate right out of our hands, but my cousin jumped out and scared it. So we were going to take advantage of this moment. The deer were to startled to come eat out of our hands. I carried S'morey back to the car, and we got in. But to our luck down the road there were more deer, and one deer came and ate out of our hands. We were so physicked, S'morey even got to pet it.

The Velveteen Sock Monkey

Have you ever had a stuffed animal that seemed like it had feelings? I do.... his name is S'morey (my sock monkey). There are times that I think he feels. It all started 2 years ago, he was brand new out of the store, I was holding him in my arms like a baby. I was so proud to have him. S'morey and I have been though some times like: a loss of a grandfather. He has been there when I needed him most, I would hug him tight in my arms, and not be embarrassed to cry. I could talk to him and he would listen, S'morey is a great listener. Every night before I go to sleep I tuck him in and give him a kiss, right beside me. And I believe he feels it, some people may say I'm crazy but deep down inside I know he is real. S'morey is not only real , but he is my best friend. Some people call it craziness I call it love. Do you have a stuffed animal that you believe is real ????

My Passion

It was the year of 2006 in July when I got my first sock monkey. It only took me a day before I was hooked. Now two years later, I have 10 sock animals, still and counting. I have learned how to make them and it has now become a passion. These are the names of my sock animals: S'morey, Truffle, Summer, Cappuccino, Chocolate Chip, Cookies and Cream, Pudding, Graham Cracker, Cinnamon and Toffee. The next sock monkey I am going to make is going to be named Caramel... If you know any places that sell sock monkey's, I'm always looking to expand my collection.
